In 1988, I made my first New Year’s Resolution. I was 9 years old, and I resolved to walk around Lake Pukaki. I gave up halfway.

Since then, every 7 years I have committed to a new resolution. I will write something every day for that year. I will not give up halfway.

This is one of those years.
